Journey #1: Jampit Guest House, Bondowoso

Back on September, I went to Bondowoso for vacation. Indonesia is popular with the culture and history that hidden within the country. I found this one place located on the top of the mountain. That location is no other than Jampit Guest House.

Jampit Guest House is a guest house that owned by Dutchman who manage a coffee plantation there. It was built since 1927 up until now, and currently taken care by the grandchild of the Dutchman. It is a beautiful area that surrounded by amazing views. The guest house is still the same since it built. No changes had been made to the guest house and you can see all Dutch styles within the building.

The guest house is surrounded with different kind of plants that decorated the whole area with different kind of colours that you surely would love.

And here's some photos of the guest house itself

There's 3 bedrooms downstairs that decorated with vintage furnitures that owned by the original Dutchmen. Even the furnitures like wardrobe, chairs, doors are still in 1927's styles. I was amazed by how all the small things are still being saved since 1927 up until now. All the plates and cups that are available in the kitchen are made from Dutch.

There is one person who hired by the Dutchman to take care of the guest house there. The person is really friendly and nice, he will tell you the history of the house and every little things that you surely will amaze with.

The guest house is free to be visited or to be rented. If you just visit this guest house like I did, you can just pay for Rp.75.000,00 for a jug of original coffee that freshly came from the coffee plantation and another jug of warm tea. You can spend your coffee time there while enjoying the beautiful view from the terrace of the building. The location of the guest house is quite far from the centre of the city but everything is worth it.
